Olá, I’m Nicolette

A Southern California native and Portuguese transplant since 2016, I feel most at home where the sun sets behind the ocean.

I am a Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher, the founder of the cork yoga mat brand Gecko Yoga, and a Yoga Gives Back global ambassador. But most importantly, I’m a lifelong student of yoga.

I’m passionate about sharing this profound practice and guiding others on their unique yogic path. Keep scrolling to explore the different ways we can practice together.

My Approach to Yoga

I believe that yoga should meet the student where they are at, and that there is space for everyone in this practice. Accessibility and authenticity are two of my guiding principles, I always adjust my classes based on the context and body I am teaching to.

My classes weave together elements of different yoga styles — including Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin — and are always anchored in strong awareness of breath. Through fluid sequencing of asanas (postures), I seek to create a balance between the complementary energies of effort and ease, structure and creativity, alignment and intuition.

As a self-proclaimed yoga philosophy and history nerd, my teaching is rooted in reverence for this ancient tradition, yet firmly grounded in the present.
